Teaching with Primary Sources Mississippi is recruiting teachers to become TPS Mississippi Instructional Coaches. We need 6 teachers (2 elementary, middle school, and high school in grades 3-12) in 2019-2020 to complete the certification process to become TPS Mississippi Instructional Coaches.

TPS Mississippi Instructional Coach Certification Steps
- Complete TPS Mississippi Professional Development
- Online 30 hour course ($100 stipend and CEUs provided) or
- Summer Institute ($500 stipend, housing, and CEUs provided)
- Or have attended the 2019 summer institute.
- Attend TPS approved conference with primary sources focus
- SOURCES Conference at UCF* (air, hotel, and per diem provided) or
- Other approved conference (with heavy primary sources focus)
- Create an original lesson plan (in collaboration with your TPS MS Coach) incorporating strategies taught in TPS Mississippi professional development and primary sources from the Library of Congress.
- Teach the original lesson plan in a 3-12 classroom.
- Create a professional development session based on your original lesson plan.
- Present professional development session at state, regional, or national conference or other professional development setting (district or school) as agreed to by your TPS Coach.
- Post original lesson plan to TPS Mississippi website.
- Post original content or lesson idea on the TPS Mississippi Facebook page twice a semester.

What you receive becoming a TPS Mississippi Instructional Coach
- Professional Development
- Funded travel to a national conference (SOURCES in Orlando)
- Conference registration for one conference for state level (to present PD)
- Stipend and CEUs to complete TPS Mississippi Professional Development (if not completed already).
- Support and mentoring from TPS Mississippi Faculty.
- Recognition as a TPS Mississippi Instructional Coach
